Read MoreEmiliia is a creative writer, theatre critic, editor and lecturer. She holds a PhD in Theatre Studies from the Faculty of Arts at Lomonosov Moscow State University, where she wrote her dissertation on contemporary auteur and neo-auteur theatre. She is a poet, playwright, cultural columnist and researcher. Emiliia is a member of the International Association of Theatre Critics. She has contributed to Critical Stages, European Stages, The Hollywood Reporter, Arti dello Spettacolo / Performing Arts, Teatro, Novaya Gazeta, Discours.io, Theatre World and other publications. She has authored more than 500 publications on theatre and cinema. She is the author of the course Profession: Theatergoer at the Central House of Journalists. Emiliia is the recipient of several professional and literary awards, including first prizes in the Golden Pen, Native Speech, International Tyutchev Prize and Yousmi Web-Journalism Awards in the category “Best Review Among Professionals”. She also received a Diploma of the International Press Club award Challenge – XXI Century for a series of theatre reviews. She is the winner of the international literary competition Across Chekhov, organized by the International Guild of Writers, in the Essay category. She has served as a judge for the theatre festival laboratory Scene of Action and for young screenwriters’ pitching sessions. She is the author of the solo performance Without Intermission, combining theatre, art reading and lecture. Emiliia has participated in and spoken at more than 50 conferences and forums, including Theatre – An Era of Changes, YOULEAD, YouthVoice, The Modern European Theatre, and WORD><STAGE: Stage Words: Inter-semiotic and Inter-linguistic Translation of Dramaturgic, Literary and Theatre Theory Texts at the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, University of Bologna. She is a scholar of the Oxford Fund and a recipient of an Italian government grant for foreign citizens. She was also a grantee and participant of the project With and From One Another: Exchange of Cultural Actors at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and a scholar of the international innovation forum Interra. Emiliia is a co-author of several books, including Almanac of Modern Writers, 100 Contemporaries About Yuri Lyubimov and others. She is the author and presenter of the Cultural Environment program on Radio Journalist. She has served as a jury member of the Polish film festival Wisła, and as a selector for the Kyoto Prize in Arts and Philosophy and the European Theatre Award. She is also a member of a literary volunteer program supporting blind and visually impaired people through audiobook recordings.
