Read MoreLucas M. Kernan (they/them) is a non-binary theatre-maker, writer, musician, and glassblower. A 2021 graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Lucas studied Drama in both the Meisner Studio and the New Studio on Broadway. They have also studied abroad with master clown Philippe Gaulier and have worked multiple times at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With a special interest in the intersection of theatre and politics, queerness, multi-disciplinary collaboration, monster theory, clown and bouffon, and the tradition of physical acting as pioneered by Jacques Copeau/Jacques Lecoq and continued today across the globe, Lucas' practice as a theatre-maker and writer is rooted equally in research and the imaginative exploration of the spirit of play – or Le Jeu. Lucas is devoted to the primacy of accessibility and awareness of social justice in all of their work.
