Read MoreAriadne Mikou is a Greek-born independent artist-researcher and dance scholar who is currently residing in Italy. She focuses on dance and community-making processes and she is also specialized in experimental practices across dance, architecture, and media as well as site-interventions and performance practices that question the theatrical apparatus. She has contributed as an author to the book anthologies “Performing Process: Sharing Dance and Choreographic Practices” (Intellect Books 2018) and “Dancing Dialogues. A Collection of Articles from Choros International Dance Journal” (Dian Publisher, 2019). Her articles and reviews have been published in peer-reviewed international journals (a.o. The International Journal of Screendance; Danza e Ricerca. Laboratorio di Studi, Scritture, Visioni; Arti dello Spettacolo-Performing Arts Journal). As a movement educator and scholar, she has collaborated with prestigious institutions a.o. La Biennale di Venezia and Palazzo Grassi in Italy and she was also invited as a Visiting Lecturer in various academic institutions such as The University of Roehampton, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, The Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music and IUAV University of Venice. She is the co-founder of the futuremellon/NOT YET ART collective, and currently, she is co-curator of [SET. me free] Dance & Movement on Screen, an international platform for the promotion of screendance. In 2018, she was awarded her fully-funded PhD Degree in Interdisciplinary Choreographic Research from the University of Roehampton (UK). She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University (USA) supported by the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece (IKY/Erasmus/Erasmus+) and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. She also holds a Diploma (joined Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree) from the School of Architecture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (GR). Currently, she is a Fellow Artist for Creative Europe’s mAPS-Migrating Artists Project.
