The Al-Talei’a Theatre troupe is gearing up for two performances of their play Al-Seirah Al-Hoalmeiya on the 11th and 12th of August at the Cairo Opera House’s Open-Air Theatre.
“The adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet explores the concept of revenge in an Upper Egyptian setting,” stated Shady Sorour, the troupe’s head. Directed by Mohamed El-Saghier, Al-Seirah Al-Hoalmeiya stars Mohamed Ibrahim, Raafat Said, Mahmoud El-Masry, Hassan Abdallah, Rami Abdel-Maqsoud, Belal Ali, Mostafa El-Said, Maha Hamdi and Mahmoud Soliman. The show is written by Al-Hassan Mohamed, and the music for the show is produced by Mahmoud Wahid.
Amid strict safety measures, Egypt resumed cultural activities last month, with most performances to be held at outdoor venues. At the same theatre, Forsan Al-Sharq from Heritage Company will perform their latest work Raya we Sekina (Raya and Sekina) on the 18th of August.
