Țuhaus is the story of Vlad Bălteanu. Narrated by himself, with emotion and self-irony, his story starts in the ’90s, in the raw context of the post-revolutionary transition in Romania. It’s a tale of the necessities generated by the transition, but more so, about the desires and dreams that it brought along. It’s about naivety, risk, and disillusion; misery and prison abuses; guilt, regret, and putting oneself together. Vlad spent nearly five years behind bars and successfully won a case against Romania at the European Court of Human Rights for inadequate prison conditions. Țuhaus is a show devised collaboratively by Asociatia Reciproca, based on Vlad Bălteanu’s story.”
