Read MoreAbhimanyu Acharya is an author, Theatre-maker, and translator based out of Gujarat, India. He has published a collection of short stories in Gujarati that received much critical acclaim. His play Roundabout was performed in Indian provinces like Gujarat and Karnataka. As a director, he has to his credit Tell Me The Name Of A Flower, an Indian classic written by Madhu Rye, and Kiran Nagarkar’s Bedtime Stories which was performed at the prestigious Manipal International Literature and Arts Platform (M.I.L.A.P.). He was the poetry editor for Chaicopy, an online literary Journal. He has received several grants and fellowships, including the one offered by Sahitya Akademi for cultural and linguistic exchange. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctoral studies at The University of Western Ontario, Canada in Comparative Literature with a special focus on Indian Theatre.

In a country where mental illness is as big an issue as poverty is but is not talked about and dealt with the same zeal and enthusiasm, Mumbai-based QTP’s latest production Every Brilliant thing, written by British playwrights Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, and directed by Quasar Thakore-Padamsee, comes as a much needed venture.

The University of Western Ontario’s Arts and Humanities Student Council (AHSC) recently staged its latest production The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza written by David Ives. The play was performed at TAP Centre for Creativity at London, Ontario, Canada, and was directed by Julia Sebastian.
