Her areas of interest include: gender, body and sexuality; the history of the theatre of the late 19th century and the early 20th century, especially low genres; the history of women in the theatre; popular culture (especially within the field of gothic studies). Agata works at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw. Her book Glamour, kobiecość, widowisko: Aktorka jako obiekt pożądania (Glamour, Femininity, Performance: Actress as an Object of Desire) was released in 2016.
