Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about our website and its content.

Is The Theatre Times only in English?

The official language of the website is British English. However, we publish content in American English as well. We might rarely publish content in other widely spoken languages, such as Spanish.

As a general rule, we will not publish any text whose content cannot be understood and verified by our editors.

Why are some countries listed under the wrong continent?

If you believe that we did something wrong, we encourage you to get in touch. Suggestions are always welcome and if made a mistake we are ready to make amend.

However, before proceeding, please be aware that we categorise countries by continent and we only refer to the continents recognised by the Encyclopedia Britannica.

When a country’s territory falls on two different continents, we make a judgement call based on where the capital city is placed.

What kind of articles do we publish?

We publish two types of articles: 1) Original pieces written by our editors and invited contributors, 2) Articles reposted from online journals and portals with which we have an agreement to repost. If you have an article you would like us to consider for publication, either an original piece or one reposted from your blog, please contact us.

What kind of videos do we include?

We include only promotional videos designed specifically for marketing purposes, and very short clips that fall within the copyright law. If you believe one of our videos do not fall under one of these categories, please let us know and we would be more than happy to remove or replace it. Thank you.

Why is the country I am looking for missing?

The chances are that we have not yet found any relevant news for that country. In that case, we could use your help: please let us know of any website or organisation publishing news about it – preferably in English.

Please also consider that you might be looking for that country in the wrong place: we add countries by their English name, and they are listed into the continents recognised by the Enciclopædia Britannica, alphabetically sorted.

Why are some countries spelled incorrectly?

We use the English version of the countries’ name. If you believe that we made a mistake, let us know and after a quick check, we will amend our mistake.

What kind of images do we use?

We only use three types of photos: 1) Photos available in public domain which we find through Pixbay.com, CreativeCommons.com and Google Search (marked for reuse). 2) Photos provided by the article authors and authorized by the artists, 3) Press photos provided by artists and institutions for press distribution.

If you believe one of our photo does not fall under one of these categories, please, let us know and we would be more than happy to remove or replace it.
