María Bastianes

María Bastianes (Buenos Aires, 1984) is a Research Lecturer at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she is currently leading a “Talent Attraction” project on the first performances of García Lorca’s theatre in Europe. She also keeps working on the study and promotion of Hispanic theatre in the UK, as part of her previous position as a Marie Curie Individual Fellow at the University of Leeds (www.estages.uk). She has published extensively on 20th and 21st centuries European and Argentinian theatres and cultures. Her first monograph, Vida Escénica de “La Celestina” en España (Peter Lang, 2020), explores the stage and cultural life of this Renaissance Spanish masterpiece in modern and contemporary Spain.
